Dr. Ludwig Laher

Dr. Ludwig Laher (*1955, Austria) is a writer and President of the European Council of Artists, ECA. After studying German studies, English studies and classical philology in Salzburg and subsequently gaining his doctorate, he worked as a teacher in Salzburg. Since 1998 he has lived as a freelance writer in  St. Pantaleon in Upper Austria and had become well-known through his poems and novels. For the contemporary novel “Herzfleischentartung“ (2001) he was awarded the Austrian Book Prize. The book has been translated several times, including in 2006 into English and French. His latest prose work is  “Und nehmen was kommt“ (2007). Ludwig Laher is a member of the board of the interest group of Austrian authors (IGAA) and the International Network of Cultural Diversity (INCD) as well as a member of the Council for German Orthography.
