Dr. Burkhardt Kolbmüller

Dr. Burkhardt Kolbmüller (*1957, in the former German Democratic Republic) is European projects manager of, and runs, the SALVE consult office for European projects in Weimar which he founded in 2003 (www.salve-consult.de). His speciality is in the planning, applying for and coordination of European projects in the fields of culture and education. He studied culture at the Karl Marx University of Leipzig and obtained his Dr. phil. in 1988. After working on various research and socio-cultural projects, particularly in the field of rural culture, he headed the project office of the Heinrich Böll Foundation for the Cultural Cities Year for 1999 from 1997 to 2000 (subject: the culture of sustainability). He was then involved in establishing the non-commercial local radio station LOTTE in Weimar. Burkhardt Kolbmüller is a founding member and executive board member of the Weimar-Jena Academy (www.weimar-jena-akademie.de) and the Thuringian Regional Cultural Association www.heimatbund-thueringen.de). Since 2000 he has also been active as the organisational head of the Weimar Summer School (www.sommerkurse-weimar.de).
