Cultural policy in Europe

The "Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends in Europe" website offers an overview of cultural policy in Europe. It provides information on the cultural policy profile of 38 European states and permits a detailed comparison of structures, key funding areas and goals. The constantly updated site facilitates comparisons of national cultural policies and promotes the dialogue across the whole of Europe.
The website is a joint venture of the Council of Europe and ERICarts, Bonn, and is realised with the help of numerous, independent cultural scientists, NGOs and national institutions.
The eighth edition of the Compendium will be uploaded onto the Web in 2007. The aim of the work is to present the cultural policy of all 48 states collaborating in the framework of the European Culture Convention. The country profiles are generally presented in English.
